As faculty fellow for the College Debate and Discourse Alliance (CD&D) at UNCP, Melanie helps organize debates on campus that brings diverse perspective together in pursuit of civil dialogue and discourse.

Melanie enjoys serving the campus community during finals week events. A favorite event of hers is the late night dining event where faculty and staff serve students in the dining hall.

Melanie works closely with the UNCP Office of Global Engagement and collaborates on programming throughout the year. The Black and Gold Event is one of the main events in the fall semester. This campus-wide gathering celebrates the diverse cultures and communities that make up the UNCP family.

As faculty co-advisor for the Sociology Club, Melanie loves every opportunity to attend events and serve the campus and local community. Pembroke day is one of her favorites!
